UCSC V/s Indian Inst. of Tech

<p>I want to become a scientist that because I need great research opportunities. I have applied to some UC campuses and some Indian colleges too. Now I got selection in UCSC and UCSC is also giving me a scholarship. And I am gussing that I will get selection in poly NYU. But I am sure that I will get selection in IIT (Indian Inst. of Tech, not in IITB or IITD but may be in IIT Kanpur and IITK). So, I have two options-
1. Get into UCSC or NYU and after 1 or 2 years apply at UCB or UCLA as transfer students
2. Take JEE and get into IITM or IITK </p>

<p>So suggest me, which option is better for me (remember I am considering research opportunities more than other factors, but please suggest me if you have any other strong factors)
And if you don't know about IIT then please suggest me why should I select first option.
(And if you feel it’s a nonsense comparison then please don’t give me any suggestions)</p>

<p>@coolboy If you select #1, you would have the opportunity to strengthen your english as a second language skills. I mean that in the most respectful way. Immersion is very valuable. UC’s are research institutions so you would not be missing any opportunities by choosing UCSC. </p>
