@lusterous:
that’s the theory!

^^ philosophy major I assume

What if they never change the admissions?? What if we have to live in a world where our status’ will be forever pending???

@Zenotheflea:

Dang…freakin’ motion is impossible! Hahaha

Quentin13, idk about you, but thanks to UCSD, I’m already living in that world.

From last years’ thread

"ok so for all of you worriers out there here is the scoop… a uc rep was at my cc today and she had some information i hope you will enjoy…
A only a tiny amount of transfers have been accepted thus far.
B the whole link to housing showing a new message is a flaw and has nothing to do with status (they are aware of the problem)
C they do not update daily or even weekly(so we can lay off the multiple checks per day.)
D…my favorite
the next (tentative) release date is…drum roll please…SATURDAY…this saturday…however this may be pushed back to next saturday because of the freshman snafu…if they dont do it this saturday they will do it next saturday.
E
if after both those saturdays pass and u are still not in…fear not…the last batch will be sent out 2 or 3 days before end of the month.
"

just note on the side… last year’s next batch was 4/3 which was a friday

So the housing thing is a rumor it seems.

Housing MIGHT be a rumor, but is being able to register for Transfer Admit Day a glitch too?

I highly doubt it is just a rumor, everyone’s status that changed from last year was accepted in the next batch. Contrarily, the one’s who didn’t have a change, were not accepted in the following batch. Well, rumor or not, I’ll cling on to my only sign of hope for now! :-b

@Predicthisflick:

Lawl, nice <3

yeah i talked to a rep also and the housing and transfer day thing is a glitch and they are aware of it. she also said that only a fraction of applicants have been accepted so far, those who have finished igetc and most of the prereqs and have no discrepencies in education (have been in the same cc throughout). basicly they have only admitted the no-brainer applicants. there will be 2-3 more batches coming out.

By glitch, do they mean signs of acceptance of just meaningless errors…?

question for you guys. im kinda screwed im at a 2.97 gpa. i got a D in one class thats not required at UCSD it was a 5 unit class retaking it right now. how f’ed am i? I have gotten basically all B’s and A’s on the few major pre reqs i needed and some igetc classes i needed i got a few c’s (2 of them). i have igetc done but that D i think is gonna screw me over lol

I think your GPA is just too low, and the D doesn’t help. They might understand that the 5 units hurt you badly, but imo, this doesn’t look good. Call them asap.

the rep i was talking to wasn’t very specific, but i was under the impression that they were just meaningless errors. i guess she could’ve meant that the housing glitch is a sign of acceptance. she also said that its funny how so much transfer applicants worry, but the reality is the majority of applicants who have a 3.0+ and igetc get accepted.

I hope so. I guess it’s because we’re all SO sick of Community College!!!

@ ladiescallmeh: Hate to say it but I think you may be up the creek on this one. Hopefully you applied to a couple fallbacks.

Everybody here says they admit almost everyone with a 3.0 and igetc regardless of tag…yet someone only .03 below a 3.0 is ■■■ out of luck? That sounds strange to me.

If the housing message change is a glitch then that’s a hell of a glitch, because apparently it has been happening the last three years (looking back at previous threads). If it’s a failure in their system, you’d think they’d have fixed it by now.

Is being allowed to register for the orientation also a glitch? Previous years threads suggest a high correlation between ability to register and acceptance in the next batch.
