Just having a 3.0 won’t get you in. With a 3.0 you’re going to need help from ECs, Essays, and God.

Also, what is the housing app change? Can i get a link please?

^ From what I’ve been hearing, the only schools that take into account ECs, Essays, and that fictional character are UCB and LA

^ Yikes.

Then that doesn’t sound good ladiescallmeh

@knightmight:

A 3.0 and IGETC should be enough to get you in… assuming you selected both IGETC and TAG on the app. I agree with lbc123 that it seems fishy to refuse someone who is 0.3 off from the minimum, but I assume those kinds of situations are the ones they look at when they do the evaluation reviews at the end of the acceptance period in May.

The housing message change is easy to see. Log into the MyApplication page, and click the “Housing Application” link on the left.

According to many previous years posters, if you see something along the lines of…

“Housing will be accepting applications for newly admitted transfer students beginning May 2, 2010. Please come back to this site at this time.”

…then it’s a good bet your number will come up on the next batch of acceptances. Another decision leak is apparently signing up for the orientation. I’ll try to scrape up a link in a few minutes.

Awesome thank you!

Np bro. Here’s the transfer orientation link. See if you can sign up. I could: [UCSD Transfer Admit Day RSVP](http://admissions.ucsd.edu/reservations/transferadmit.aspx)

I can’t sign up. It says USER ID not found for this event. I hope thats not too bad.

This early in the decision process, it’s hard to say. It might not be bad at all-- it might be just that you will be notified in a later batch of acceptances. After the next one there are two more. However, if the experiences of posters on CC in previous years is any indication, it means that you won’t get an acceptance in this very next batch.

Yea that makes sense bro. What do you think about that new parent “aventeur” thingy?

I was looking for evidence in previous threads that pointed to how accurate that is, but my search was inconclusive. If mine is any indication, I got into Warren (my first choice), but how often do people get into their first choice? I don’t have any data on that.

Hope the next batch will come soon!

Regarding .03 under…I got the feeling 3.0 is the absolute minimum for a reason. I mean I know such a small difference could be seen as negligible, but it kinda says a lot at the same time, such as how the applicant was only poised to achieve the minimum in the first place.

Could be wrong, and I wish you look getting admitted.

thanks you guys. i hope i get in if not I guess I’ll appeal. I regret taking that class for no reason. I know UCSD and UCSB dont read the essays. I do have a lot of EC, Math Club/Bio/MESA/AMSA and I participate. Worse case scenario I’m cool with my dean at the CC and he said he’ll write me a letter of recommendation. He graduated from their with his PHD and all and knows some of the transfer people…so hopefully i get in thanks guys.

@noodlesli:

I hope so too. I’ve been trying to figure out what the interval between batches is. In 2009, from what I can tell the acceptance dates were 3/14 (S), 4/3 (F), 4/15 (W), 4/30 (F) (shout-outs to pinkerfloyd for bumping key threads). The interval of days is 12 days, then 20 days, then 15 days. A maximum of nearly 3 weeks, and a minimum of 1.6 weeks. So, in other words, no pattern.

Don’t look at me that way. I’m in school to be a scientist. We analyze *****.

My best guesstimate is that the next batch will be any time between this Wednesday and this Saturday.

I’m a TAGgot so I know I got in (barring UCSD admissions snafus) but I absolutely wish the best of luck to everyone else.

props to james sin ho !

Im not accepted to UCSD yet, but the strange thing is that i can register for the transfer admit day

^ what region are you from?

I got in to my first choice college (answering a previous question.) Marshall!

jamesinho :
I hope so james. Waitting for UCSD’s admission has been a torture to me…
