I got the “my admission status would not allow me” thing… 8-X I’M REALLY FREAKED OUT RIGHT NOW oh GOD

My capped, weighted UC GPA is 4.14 and my SAT is 2290… didn’t get a call, but: got the Med Scholars Invite + admitted to Davis, and Santa Cruz… 5/5/5/4 on four AP exams last year, and I think my essays were pretty decent… chance me? :-S

No amount of chances will improve your chance of getting in. Log off and come back in a few hours

@thehistoryhacker I personally think you’ve got a good shot, but at this point chancing is useless because the admissions offices are generally unpredictable

It’s agony to waitttt

Simpler way to check for acceptance, just check your housing message after you login.

Last year, decisions were posted around 3pm PST so I would bank on that again

@Yopperpo Quoting “Frozen”? I approve.

Come on guys! I really hate to do this bit you’re all making a big deal out of a glitch. First of all, you’ll find out in a few hours about whether you actually got in or not, and guessing now won’t change that, it’ll only make you more stressed. Second of all, these systems are not designed to allow only certain people to access the current students section. Log out and you can get to every page, like ordering a permit or a transcript, without even being logged on. Third of all, being a current student who can pay his/her tuition means that you have already accepted their offer of admission, and you have not done so, I guarantee it! So, getting a message that says that you have to accept their offer of admission does not mean that you have been offered admission. It means that you have not accepted an offer of admission. The system is not just for prospective freshman to pay, it’s for all students, so the fact that people are able to access the current students sections only means that the website has not fully shutdown. I have a strong feeling that it has no bearing on admission. A bunch of the college websites link the admissions decision page to the current students section, and it means that the school can run everything on one server. My gut tells me it’s a glitch, I’m no expert however. Even if I’m wrong, the decision time is not that far away, and the more that we tax their system, the harder it will be for them to update decisions. Since they have not set a specific time, it is likely that the decisions have been made and posted, and the website is loading them into the server. It’s just the push of a button, and they’ve probably already done it! But we’re slowing them down…

@collegeduuude You just made me feel a whole lot better. Thanks! :)

I was accepted and got the call about two days ago and I’m not an URM either so I was quite surprised but good luck to everyone! and decision was supposed to be posted today at 12pm but myapplication portal is completely down, is it down for anyone else? I wonder what happened, I wanted to see the official acceptance letter anyway, good luck everyone!!!

If you have some knowledge in databases and organizing users into specific usergroups, most databases for user accounts differentiates Accepted/Rejected/Waitlisted/Current Students in the database to allow different user accesses. This is why other student portals like those in UNC, UVa, and Michigan have specific accesses set for Accepted/Rejected/Waitlisted/Current Students in their students page. I would be embarrassed for UCSD, with its level of reputation, to make a simple mistake of giving student access to all students who have applied. We’ll have to wait several more hours for the results to confirm.

@mynameisruby, can you go to this site, log in and tell us what your housing application message says? We need a bigger sample size to see if this could be an admissions indicator.

@Yopperpo my non-acceptance theme song is “Let It Go” Yesterday’s UChicago waitlist = me eatin’ pie and mouthing along to “Let It Go” while sobbing

Myapplication is still down for me as well

@usmc0311 I heard if you login to a website that’s only for admitted student, ucsd records your ID and reports it o ucsd admission office and it may affect our admission. I’m not sure exactly which website it is but it’s posted on one of the other threads for ucsd. I’m not sure the link you provided is that website, but I’m not risking anything! even if I’m admitted already sorry

can you guys even get onto the first myapplication page?! it says the site is completely down.

30 more minutes maybe?

MyApplication is still down for me, but I got all the things that Bouncer was saying. Here are my stats:
ELC, 2180 SAT, 33 ACT, 3.97 unweighted UC GPA, 4.46 weighted UC GPA, 770 Math lvl 2, 770 Bio M, 700 chem
Good essays,
I think people should post their stats when they say that they got all the messages that Bouncer was talking about. And btw, College confidential forums are full of people with good academics, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the majority of this forum’s users get accepted to UCSD.

@mynameisruby no way they would change admission now for looking at your UCSD account… we’re simply being resourceful :)
