UCSD Class of 2022

Has anyone received a notification from UCSD? They will be releasing some decisions in Feb according to this doc http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/counselors/files/campus-notification-schedule-2018.pdf

I have followed UC admissions and decision dates for the last 5 years and have never seen UCSD post any decisions earlier than March. They do have an early calling campaign that targets Regents Scholars, Chancellor’s Associates Scholars, historically underrepresented students, and top admits based on their academic profile.
This usually happens the first week in March.

But who knows. Uc’s keeps changing its notification policies.

Does anybody know if UCSD has rolling admission realseases, or is it just all at once?

@Gumbymom up until tonight i would have to agree with you… however D18 just came in and told me one of her friends got accepted today to UCSD. Do i have stone cold verification. nope… (i.e. havne’t seen it myself) but that’s the scuttle

I would be curious to know how the student was notified of admission.

Was she notified by phone? Maybe they started the calling campaign early this year? It is up to each school to decide when they start notifying so who knows,

I think it was via email. D18 is asking today at school

@fibonacci65 @Gumbymom Maybe it was the email for the VIP Tour and her friend knew/assumed that meant she was in? Those invitations came out about this time last year.

Yes, that may explain it. Thanks @youcee.

UCSD calling campaign and admissions decisions are during week of March 19.

damn thats after UCLA

So to clarify, UCSD decisions have not come out yet for anyone right?

@dasanise some people in this thread mentioned that some admissions are out in February, however most of their decisions as a fact would be made during the week of March 19. I’m a UCSD student and they are asking for calling campaign volunteers during then.

During calling campaign, do they call every admitted students, or only the top x%?

Often times calling campaigns target under-represented groups in an effort to increase yields in those groups.

By looking at past admission things, it seems like UCSD updates the portal on the second Friday of March. (Maybe/Hopefully March 9?)

Maybe the early campaign is during the week before that and is for top people/underrepresented minorites.

And perhaps, @ucsdcscholar ‘s thing is for the regular admits to convince them to go to UCSD. I don’t know, but I really hope that the March 9 thing is true.

@jayjay7737 I volunteered at last year’s calling campaign too. (edit, checked my calendar and I volunteered week of march 7 last year)

I’m a scholarship recepient so I myself called Regents and Chancellor’s Scholars (you call people admitted with similar stats/situations as you). I’ll update if there’s an earlier campaign date, but the one I provided is for Jacobs engineering students (since I’m also a CS student) in particular. No news on scholarship calling campaign yet.

Thanks for the info @ucsdcscholar. What made you pick UCSD? My son has early admit to UCSB and UCI so wondering if you were also deciding between multiple UCs.

@ucsdcscholar May I ask, do you remember your stats when you got accepted at UCSD as a freshman? And also do you know the average stats for the regents scholarship? I really want the benefits of the regents scholarship (priority registration/acceptance to first choice college), but I’m not sure I have the best stats. I got accepted to UCI’s Honors program, but I really want to go to UCSD with regents.
