UCSD Class of 2022

@cutiepie679 That they’re accepting only people they think will attend…how can they discern? It’s a head scratcher.

@JaqueBear I have a 34 act, 800 math level 2, 4.15 gpa and got rejected from davis as well:/ and i thought i had pretty good essays, ec’s,etc. sometimes admissions don’t make sense

@YoungOne4 they can take historical data of the average applicant that rejects them or accepts them

I do not see how it is smart to waitlist/deny people with high stats because admissions assumes they do not want to go. A student who works hard and gets great grades and test scores should be able to see their hard work pay off by having multiple options for college. It is not fair for admissions to deny somebody because they assume they do not want to go to the school anyways. And this is coming from somebody with low stats.

Are all these GPAs weighted or the 10th and 11th A-G GPAs that the UCs use? Mine has about .3 difference between them thats why

@ucplsacceptme awwww…thank you! And good luck to you too!

@cutiepie679 i like the concept of accepting based on likelihood but there’s definitely a few flaws with that. what if davis rejects a high stat applicant on the basis that said applicant would probably have “better” options, but davis was their dream school? how can you tell whether a person wants or doesn’t want to go to a particular school?

@cocoonutty They are likely trying to lower their acceptance rates by considering yield. Davis historically has a low yield rate, meaning that people tend to not accept the offer if they do get in, and a low acceptance rate makes the school look more prestigious to some metrics. Last year it looks like Davis had a higher rate than Irvine, SB, and SD.

So… no decisions today? Kk.

Can someone tell me what “Jacob” is for calling campaign?

I wasn’t waitlisted/denied to Davis with what I would call pretty decent stats. Now waiting to hear from UCSD.

@orionary Jacobs school of engineering (JSOE) ill be calling people some people admitted under engineering

@orionary calling campaign volunteers are assigned to certain categories depending on their own qualifications.

@Runningpanda18 is jacobs as in jacobs school of engineering, since i think they are an engineering student.

i’m assigned to regents and jacobs

EDIT: This means that just because you got a call doesn’t mean it’s a for sure indication that you are regents unless the caller specifies it. Everyone gets a script depending on what category they are calling for.

@runningpanda18 ahh I see thanks! And can you tell me if there’s anything special the URM accepted applicants get? Like any particular scholarship or aid? Or is it just a simple congratulation?

@orionary i dont know for sure, but they will probably tell you about the overnight program and summer bridge

So it’s for sure San Diego isn’t coming out today? :frowning:

@orionary only regents get some kind of scholarship; other campaigns get an invite to their respective overnight stay program.

@collegedreamer167 doesn’t seem like it :frowning:

Admissions are not coming today. When they are coming out I will post it.

does anyone know how many waves of acceptances they do?
