That would be nice, tired of waiting too.
Do you guys think I have a shot at ucsd/ucsb if I got into UC Davis with a 3.6 and 1200 sat? I thought I did but now I’m reading about the theory that they accepted kids like me for yield protection so yikes
I just called the office of admissions and asked if the representative knew whether decisions will be released this week and she said “I can’t tell you whether or not decisions will be released this week but they will be released very soon.” I’m hoping that means they’ll be released today but if not we’ll know soon enough.
@ucplsacceptme I agree UC Davis accepted kids very strangely this year, but we cannot believe the other theories that you WONT get accepted to any other campuses. Each UC is different! Just because you have great gpa (or low), great sat (or low), great EC (or barely any), I believe the rest of the UCs will judge each applicant properly and fairly.
No one can guarantee anything. I got sadly rejected by UCD last Friday with a SAT of 1420 and a UC GPA of 3.9. Tbh I was shocked by this decision…but congratulations to your acceptance! Just wait and see. It won’t come out awfully late this year, maybe this Friday. @ucplsacceptme
@jaquebear Wow that’s so crazy… honestly kinda confirms the yield theory. But i wouldn’t worry bc im sure you’ll get into an even better UC/school with those stats
@ucplsacceptme for UCSD, I believe they accept many URM, first gen/first in fam, low income, and any other special circumstances applicants. UCSB, however, can be seen as tied to UCLA or so because they look strictly on gpa and sat. IMO.
@orionary yeah that’s definitely worrying to me but makes sense. thanks!
Does the countdown begin now or naw? 8-|
@JaqueBear @ucplsacceptme no it doesn’t not confirm yield theory because I got accepted to Davis with a 4.6 uc gpa 4.0 unweighted and 33 act…I should also have been rejected if that were the case. Perhaps your essays or ECs were not that great as I don’t see the other reason why you would have been rejected
lol, results aren’t going to come till after the calling campaign…which means that you are most likely to hear regular decisions Friday of next week. In an email that I just received from the people heading the calling campaign, they just said we will be the first to congratulate people on their new admissions.
Let the countdown begin! But I feel like it might not come out today lol
I personally believe that the yield theory is correct. Even though I got accepted, I feel that a few of my friends with way better essays and just as good scores just got waitlisted. Honestly Davis is just trying to increase it’s prestige.
@dogsarelife my aunt is on the admissions board, and even I got waitlisted (1540 SAT and 4.38 GPA) at Davis, and when I asked her about it she said that they’re accepting people based off of the likelihood that they will attend the school.
@cutiepie679 yo that’s lowkey so smart because it gives people with lower stats that chance to go there since people with better stats prob have a dream school somewhere else. Anyways, even if they are on the waitlist, they will have a high chance of getting off the waitlist after people begin to SIR.
I think they are doing the right thing. At least it opens up spots for people who REALLY wants to go to a particular university and probs is their reach school.
the fact that ucsd portals are still up and accessible may also point to decisions not being released today
nothing yet
@Runningpanda18 which calling campaign are you goig to be under? URMs/Jacobs/Regents? might see you there next week lol
@ucsdcompsci Jacobs
