UCSD Class of 2022

@huanhoy no one has gotten called yet. I would know, everyone in my grade applied to UCSD and they are all first generation, low-income, and competitive.

@Julieta2321 They can, but they always ask for student volunteers to help out; usually when student volunteers call they introduce themselves with their college and major and everything too, so you can tell. I volunteered for the campaign last year which happened before decisions (and I don’t think there were any calls out from staff before the week I volunteered, but I could be wrong), and I’m volunteering again next week.

@ucsdcscholar so they are doing it differently this year or do you think that the admissions won’t happen until next today?

Wait, if post #585 stated decisions will be This Friday, then when is calling campaign? After?

@Julieta2321 Things can change, but I’m kind of adamant that admissions won’t release until sometime next week still haha. Though if the Preuss school gets their admissions I don’t think I’ll volunteer :stuck_out_tongue: Besides, what’s the point of the campaign if you’re just notifying people of something they already know? That’s why I’m suspicious when people say it’ll come out Friday.

so my friend goes to ucsd and he said he never got called about anything telling him he got accepted to ucsd. do they call everyone?

@gabbyjohn1030 No, they do not. It’s mostly just for URMs, scholarship recipients, etc.

DD had listed 4 AP Exams/Tests to be taken in UC Application. But now she wants to skip 2 of them after she found out she may not get college credits for them (AP English Lit and AP Macroeconomics). Would that be ok with colleges? OR would college rescind her admission if she skips taking tests listed in the application? This is our first experience with college admission process, so we are worried. Appreciate your help, thanks!

@cc4help It’s fine. I skipped AP Physics myself during my senior year and I wasn’t rescinded anywhere. Universities don’t list the credits you never received and generally just ignore the AP exams you didn’t take.

@cc4help Colleges don’t rescind admission if you skip taking AP tests.

@ucsdcscholar and @Seemas, appreciate your feedback, thank you! At this admission stage I want my DD not to take any risk, so we are asking around for info.

But her AP coursework is good at school, only part that would change is taking college board AP Exams

I got accepted to ucd but did not receive the glitch because I did not check the portal

Damn, it was 6:30 am when this glitch happened and I missed it :frowning:
When I saw there were 164 new posts since I last checked last night I thought they released decisions lmao

So UCSD coming on Friday the 16th?

@Heisenberg1700
Literally, no one knows it.Everyone is speculating probable dates. I believe UCSD admission counsellors are simply chilling on their couches and watching us cringe over the delay in results.

@Birdypurdy Haha I can imagine.

Anyone else here apply for a joint major in econ and math?

We haven’t gotten acceptances yet, so not coming out today.

@Julieta2321 thank you!
