UCSD Class of 2023

^ They already disconnected the phone line.

@Vibes4me Agreed. The system is completely flawed. The admissions committee knows EXACTLY when decisions will be released. This is a way to keep students thinking about the school and, frankly, I do not think it works. It compromises trust in the university.

I don’t even know why I’m so nervous. I’m a transfer student and probably won’t find out till end of April lol

@BelJeanW they haveblocked me from calling as I have called 10 times this morning.

@coolweather okay…

Damn I was really hoping for today

@Vibes4me omg

^ I was just kidding. I did not make any call.

what a bummer if they don’t release today. who cares what UCLA does… and for those that think it is a yield thing - I don’t agree. UCSD is my DS’s #1 choice. He already got in to his 2nd and 3rd choices. Yes UCLA and UCB are “better” schools and most people are going to pick them over UCSD regardless of when UCSD announces. But for those who already got in to their 2nd and 3rd choice have too much time to contemplate those schools.

Im pissed

UCSD didn’t come out until 4:30 the last two years either, guys. Calm down.

see yall at 430 :stuck_out_tongue:

Im so mad I’ve been waiting all week anticipating it to come out today

Mood

Let’s wait for two more hours!!

@FlyYellow It is definitely a yield thing. They do not want students forgetting about their school. This does not only imply UCLA and UCB. Many students do not realize how much they love a school until they are accepted. First acceptance is known to have a sense of lost excitement after new acceptances arise, as several students do not have a choice and rather wait to gauge their options.

Then why didn’t Davis release at the same time as UCLA?

It might just be that things take time on their end, and that there are some last minute changes that slow things down. But it would be really helpful to get an ETA for this, and a day, at least, and an update if they don’t meet it…good luck all of you!!!

It would be nice to maybe get a tweet or something from the admissions office

@2km2km Because it is not one of the competitive UCs. The top UCs are labeled as UCLA, UCB, and UCSD. That is the general consensus, regardless of what some may say. Why doesn’t Merced release on the same day as UCLA? Because it is not close to the level of UC Davis. Same thing with Davis. Although it is a great school, students generally do not regard it as highly as UCLA.
