UCSD Class of 2023

@Momtwo3: Based on the SAT conversion charts an SAT of 1470 is equal to an ACT score of 33. If you plan to appeal a decision, you need new compelling information. The SAT will not make the difference.

@Haysmom: The Early calling campaign is where the Regent scholarship recipients are notified. However, I have not seen anyone post that they have received Regents.

I’m quite shocked that I was accepted, I last minute decided to apply to a second uc because originally I was only applying to santa cruz, but now am glad that I chose a second as financial aid doesn’t seem to be allowing me to attend the private schools I want to go to. I’m really fortunate to have so many great options.

Slightly off topic — what a day for a father. Starting with waiting for the USPS mailperson for some good news from USC (which did not come) then holding on to the phone trying to get to the UCI website, then giving up and getting to the UCSD website and finally finding out that my son is on the waitlist. In the mean time, my son is off having a chai tea with his friends after school, already accepting whatever comes next.

At the end of the day, I recall 43 years ago my old frail mother was fighting with a crowd of young men trying to get to the front of the bulletin board where they posted the selection results of the only engineering school in the nation where the acceptance rate is less than 0.01%. Guess where I was ? Same, I was riding my bike around with friends, thinking that I can wait until the crowd loosens. My Mom could not wait. I sobbed tonite now that I understand what parents would do for their children.

For those who got accepted today make sure you hug and thank your parents. If you did not get in, thank them anyway since you should know, for you, they went through ten times the torturous wait. Good luck to all

Accepted, UCSD Regents (Neurobiology)

Coming in a bit late here but I have received the Regents scholarship and quite frankly knew it was a good scholarship since a while back but was shocked to learn the actual extent of it. Do you guys know how hard it is to earn and how many of the 99,000 applicants receive it, thanks in advance!!!
