UCSD Colleges

Oh, and I’m definitely sure some of the guys here want to know about which college has the hottest girls.

For the incoming 2009 freshmen class, it is definitely Sixth, hands down, no contest. Everyone from every other college that I have talked to agrees, and if you don’t, I suggest you see an optometrist.

For the incoming 2010 freshmen, who knows. But if this year means anything and is an indication of this fall’s incoming class, you’ll be in for a treat.

@eltagra

I wasn’t kidding, it’s true. :frowning: Ha ha, just my opinion though.

To rectify any possible misconceptions, Sixth is easily the worse college currently in existence. It’s far from most lecture halls, dining halls, and it’s not even remotely close to any gym. If you’re in the ResHalls, you either have to hike (literally hike) to the dining hall or you have to take a obscenely long route to get there. Yeah pizza, wraps, salads are good. Are you going to eat that every day, all year long? Pizza every meal? In contrast to Sixth’s dining halls, the other colleges actually have a kitchen where they can offer actual meals (ramen, sushi, prime rib, etc)

Yeah it’s close to the Price Center. That’s about it. When you arrive at UCSD, you quickly realize that there’s really no point in going to the Price Center.

Not much pride. If we did have a lot of pride, we would have won the Spirit Night thing. Actually to put it in perspective (relative to UCSD’s already minimal amount of pride) Sixth really doesn’t have that much.

All dorms are similar on the inside? Far from it. Check out Marshall. Check out ERC. Heck, even Warren (they actually have A/C). Think you don’t need A/C in SD? Wait until you actually move in. Far better standards of living.

Enjoy, from a Sixth College student.

haha mapthesoul is a complete and utter ■■■■■■. he might be from sixth college but he’s just a bitter baby who likes to cry about everything that is given to him.

oh no, you aren’t close to a gym, what shall you do? why don’t you get your lazy fat ass up and actually JOG a mile to the gym. good workout ehh? oh wait, can’t expect that out of your fat ass.

and sixth does have actual meals you dumb ass. right next to the salads and wraps you can get **** like steak and roast beef and chicken. all my friends in other colleges get sick of their own food as well and always go to other dining halls, which isn’t any different for sixth. want something else? take a shuttle to ovt or cafe v, and quit complaining.

get a bicycle or long board and you are fine for classes. take most of your classes at center, pepper, warren lecture hall, and price theater and stop crying. even peterson isn’t that far. sure, york is far, but york is FARTHER for erc and warren kids, so your claims are completely unfounded.

and i have checked out erc and warren. there really isn’t much difference. erc is slightly better because it has built in closets in the walls and their rooms are slightly bigger, but thats a given because they have the newest dorms, which is all evened out with the fact that their GE’s are absolutely terrible and they are FARTHER from everything than sixth is.

HAHAHAHAHA I like how one comment gets you from happyhappy to *y*y.

ERC doesn’t have air conditioning either. just to say. also, it’s really unnecessary to knock down other colleges while you are vigorously defending your own. (referring to your very last sentences)

Okaay sooo I’vee beeeen accepttedd too Marshall:))

What can youu guyss tell meee abouutt thiss collegeee??:))

Revelle doesn’t have AC? D:

I don’t know why this whole thing is turning into an argument about A/C. You really don’t need it. Some people here over-exaggerate. First of all, your in San Diego where most of the year its 65-70 degrees, its not like it gets ridiculously cold and if it does put on a sweater. And if it’s hot open your window.

As a side note most dorms do not have A/C. I know that Muir has heating but you rarely ever need it.

Trust me I know about the weather in SD, and in sept/april/may/june it can get unbearably stuffy at night without AC. So I’m not too happy to hear that.
Heating I could care less about. I guess I’ll bring a fan, good to know.

Because you can’t sleep with your window slightly opened instead?

Wow, ■■■■■■■ are arguing over AC. You are in SAN DIEGO for ****'s sakes. The best weather in California, let alone the United States. Warmer winters, cooler summers. Enjoy 70 degree weather year round.

Open your window if you think it gets stuffy. But fyi, I had no trouble sleeping in Sixth without AC for my entire fall quarter.

Just bring a fan, you’ll be fine.

happyhappy = angryangry

Oh wow, so many comments! Thanks everybody for all of your input :). I got into Muir College…besides it having the easiest GEs, what are other pros/cons about Muir?

I’m a 2nd year Muir student. Pro’s include dorms are set up to be very social and interact with everyone in your house. A house is comprised of 2 floors in one of the residential buildings. The House Advisor’s are hand picked and are required to host programs for the house you are in throughout the year, take advantage of this because at most other colleges HA’s do little to nothing compared to what the Muir HA’s do. Many people I knew at other colleges rarely even meet with people on the same floor. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to them, by the end of the year I knew practically everyone in my house, around 90 people, except for the anti-social ones who refused to talk anyone. Some of the con’s currently include no dining hall at the moment, but they should be opened by fall of the upcoming school year unless something goes wrong. Also they are constructing new apartments because often many 2nd year students have to live in Warren or in the Res Halls because there are so few apartments available. The good thing is they should be ready by the 2011-2012 school year, so your class would be the first to live in the new apartments.

How do you become a HA? And what kind of activities?
