<p>ok so for all of you worriers out there here is the scoop… a uc rep was at my cc today and she had some information i hope you will enjoy…
A only a tiny amount of transfers have been accepted thus far.
B the whole link to housing showing a new message is a flaw and has nothing to do with status (they are aware of the problem)
C they do not update daily or even weekly(so we can lay off the multiple checks per day.)
D…my favorite
the next (tentative) release date is…drum roll please…SATURDAY…this saturday…however this may be pushed back to next saturday because of the freshman snafu…if they dont do it this saturday they will do it next saturday.
E
if after both those saturdays pass and u are still not in…fear not…the last batch will be sent out 2 or 3 days before end of the month.</p>

if your engineering major the next part is for you…
if you do not have your prerequisites complete…be worried…that is one of their biggest criteria she said…
hope this helps… it made me feel so much better when she told me that only a tiny amount of transfer acceptances have been released…

<p>April Fools? So the housing thing is a glitch? Why would it only glitch for some people and not others? Are you sure they’re not just fooling with you in hopes of avoiding another catastrophe? If I’ve learned anything from my numerous calls to UCSD admissions it’s that their words are not to be trusted, because they say things in hopes of avoiding problems and maximizing efficiency, not to tell the truth, which is understandable. Also if they’re that aware of the problem, I doubt it’s a very hard problem to fix, so why haven’t they fixed it yet? </p>
<p>Watch, I will be accepted either this week or next week, and so will all the other people with the May 2nd message.</p>
<p>The only reasonable assumption to make is that they made the “glitch” while updating people’s admission status. I don’t even see what else could possibly do something like that. The page itself is used to tell transfer admits the date of housing application, and to tell pending students their admission status does not allow them permission to view housing apps. How could that message for transfer admits be magically placed in the app page of several transfers? They were messing with admission status, that’s the only explanation.</p>
<p>Instead of the absolutely useless message they have on their website, I wish they would actually tell us what they “real” dates are that way we can all stop going insane and checking everyday. Honestly it going to end the world if they told us when they plan to update.</p>

<p>Well it makes sense to be real careful, but apparently they weren’t careful enough. I mean look at this current blunder, they made national news! Semi big dogs like UCSD can’t afford to mess around, they gotta be all bureaucratic and go all dodgy on us.</p>

<p>Im very glad people have liked my post. id just like to add one more thing in response to the housing message. I agree a hundred percent that your train of thought is logical, however, this is the same school that told 39,000 rejects from ucsd to come to admit day. Im sure you are in but i know people with 4.0’s who do not receive that message, people with tag that don’t receive that message and some one who is already in who still sees the old message. while to us we all hope the message is a indicator, it is quite possible there is another connection besides admittance, ie what college you picked first, financial aid , major, and so on. </p>

Well death and taxes won’t be certain for very long(interpret this however you want, Aubrey de Grey, end of the world, etc), yet me getting into UCSD is quite certain, because if I don’t get in even with TAG, I’m burning UCSD down and declaring myself new admissions manager and letting myself in.</p>

<p>I don’t have any comment on the validity of the glitch, but I am an ITT and can tell you that glitches happen w/ an innumerable amount of causes. Not to burst anyone’s bubble though. I am as stressed out as anyone else. I have a 4.0 and have finished IGETC, still havent received anything from UCSD yet, I got into UCI already though so i’m pretty anxious. Let’s all hope everyone here gets something saturday (ME INCLUDED!)</p>
<p>hey i am a transfer applicant from National University of Singapore ( and its engineering schools is ranked 11 in the world presently, and its over all rank is 30 in the world), i am a resident of Florida and an doing a major in bioengineering , do u guys think that i have a fair shot for the transfer in UCSD, given that i have a 3.4 /5 GPA whch is actually considered honours class in my University???</p>
<p>You have the lowest priority for admissions with the most impacted major. I would GUESS you have some chance… but not a big one.</p>

<p>Thanks for the information! My friend got that “glitch” e-mail and she was freaking out, lololol. She called and they told her that she was accepted tho…what’s weird was that she was a transfer…o__O;; so technically she wasn’t supposed to know she was accepted until a couple days later…oh well!</p>
