psy is social science but ...hmmm strange

lol I know psych is a social science...but maybe that's a major they got a lot of applicants for? who knows? I know my bf hasn't been notified yet, for computer science, either.

Don't worry about it too much... but I know that you just hate waiting for it.!

lol yea, but CONGRATULATIONS to you! :-)

Damn seeing all these admits is freaking me out!!! Redtapepatrol... gpa??

sistahgurl... I'm psych too and i haven't heard anything either...

i got in to UCSD too, really aiming for UCLA though.

3.39, English Major, Anyone know if I can change majors in UCSD? what is their policy?

and got into Roosevelt, i just randomly selected muir thurgood etc on the uc apps though, didn't choose any.

wussaaap! whooo i got into university! thurgood marshall, 3.8something, Econ baby!

REJECTED. 3.9 UC GPA.

i was SOOOO disappointed when i discovered i got rejected. bio major. i dont understand the admission decisions at ALL

now i have to choose between uci or ucd :/

minty: ***? rejection notification today?

.....

did you finish your prereqs?
igetc?
will you have met the units requirement?

"We have carefully reviewed your records and regret that we cannot offer you admission to the University of California, San Diego."

I just can't believe the admission decisions this year. There are rumors that it is very random and many people are being rejected who have better stats than those who are actually accepted.

poppin: i have done everything required and more. my guess is that applying for bio was a bad choice or i was just unlucky

appeal for sure

Wait, but did you finish your prereqs, IGETC, and did you meet the units requirement?

What reasons do you think you were not accepted?

Did you submit the application update??

I'm really confused, please help us understand why you weren't accepted. Maybe we can help you formulate a basis for appeals.

can't you also call them and ask what the basis for your rejection was?

probably rejected because of bio, isn't that their most competitive major?!

poppin: I don't know what IGETC means. Care to explain? As for the pre-reqs and units, i have fulfilled more than i needed to.

my guess goes with henleya. bio is pretty competitive, but it is also their largest major so i don't see how i could be rejected compared to the other applicants

i had a cousin last year who was rejected with a 4.0 last year to bioengineering and she called and they made a mistake so they let her in eventually

IGETC is "the transfer core curriculum which fulfills the lower division general education requirements of both the CSU and UC"

IGETC isn't an admissions requirement, but it's typically HEAVILY factored in.
