I am having the same problem. I need 2 classes to fulfill my GE’s, but only 2 courses are recommended for your first quarter- logic and philosophy and they both sound bad. :(

Making and Breaking Codes (LIGN 17) was really good for the math requirement, also CSE 3 is an easy A

@ucsandieo915 nice, thanks alot! I’ll be sure to sign up for CSE 3 or LIGN17 then.
you should seriously be a orientation leader! :)

@nicholep - oh no! you have to take philosophy? which GE is that again?

I don’t have to take philosophy. On the list of class you can take for your quantitative reasoning requirement most of the class offered this quarter are not recommended if it is your first quarter at UCSD.

Hey guys,
This question really does not portion to ERC or even UCSD. Some of my friends are about to leave for college in a 2 weeks. So, I was wondering what is a good place in for my friends and I to hang out before they leave for college (either SD or maybe LA). We were kind of thinking of doing something exciting, kinda a last hurrah. What did any of you guys do?

Hey guys,
I read somewhere (maybe it was on facebook) that freshman are advised to take 3 classes their first quarter and then work up to 4. Is that true?

^Some take 3, most take 4. I would recommend signing up for 4, try it out for a couple weeks, and then decide if it’s too hard and if you want to drop a class.

Cool advice, thanks.

I’m having a hard time deciding between 3 or 4 classes too. I met up with a conselor on campus w/ my dad and she relly recommended that I take 3 classes. But all my friends are taking 4 ahh

Question about orientation:

I’m moving in early (on Sep 17) since I have orientation on the 17-18th. I figured I might as well move in since school starts 5 days after that. Will I have time to put away my things (drop off in my dorm) before orientation? Since I’ll be coming from the airport with all my luggage, I can’t lug it around with me all day on the 17th. thanks for your answers

What were your first three choices at ucsd?

HELP!!! Does ERC have a summer assignment, because a lot of people on facebook have been freaking out about a summer assignment? I have not heard that there was anything. Please say it is not true.

i think its just warren
