@Ohm888 Hey, you were one of the people who left me really encouraging comments back when I was first getting started!! I know it was a while ago and you probably don’t remember, but that comment really helped me see my situation as one that can be used positively. I ended up changing my major and found my passion in neuropsych and just SIR’ed UCSD

I finished the quant math though. I think I am only missing the second english class. Regarding completing missing prereqs in the summer, I don’t think that’s the case because UCs don’t allow you to take classes in the summer before enrollment in Fall.
Since UCSD offered me an acceptance letter instead of a rejection letter, I think they may just mean that I could take any missing classes at UCSD after I enroll.
I will email UCSD admission just in case. Do you think that there will be a risk of them changing the admission status after I emailed them about the missing prereqs? I doubt it because they make each decision carefully and they probably see my missing prereqs in my application.

@sagaciousforever they let you take in summer after acceptance. I don’t think they’ll let you in without it. Be prepared to offer that as an alternative.

Tbh I thought my GPA was WAY too low for UCs so I wasn’t even planning on applying, never even looked into Tag. I had initially decided to only apply to CSUs and either transfer to one if I got in or spend another year at community college to improve my GPA and try applying again. However, I decided to apply to the UCs last minute for shts and giggles. (Literally completed the application in about 3 or 4 hours and submitted it a few minutes before it was due, pulled the essays out of my a* somehow.) and Thank God I did! If I hadn’t, my only option would have been Csudh. So my advice to any future applicants who might be looking through this thread, always apply! You really just never know. I honestly thought I had no chance. Congrats to everyone getting into these amazing schools and best of luck on your future endeavors!

Can someone explain what waitlist even mean?
I got accepted to one of the UC’s and waitlist by UCSD. And according to the UCSD website, they’ll announce the decisions for people who opt into the waitlist before the end of JULY. But, the deadline to SIR to other school is before that deadline.
What happens it I SIR to other school and then UCSD decided to enroll me? What do I do then? Can I revoke my SIR to the other school?
@NervyBoi I believe you can, however, I have heard that you do not get the payment back for that SIR
@NervyBoi @Returnmypie Exactly right. You NEED to SIR by the other deadlines…don’t wait on UCSD. It’s possible that you’ll be admitted off the waitlist before June 1st (but not likely). I guess this would be the case if they have a very low yield rate for your major. I’m right in there with ya…gotta play the waiting game again! If you don’t have a financial aid waiver, then you’ll have to pay the SIR and you won’t get it back.
The only question I have, is…Do you need to SIR to UCSD if you’re pulled off the waitlist in June? It would would make sense (sort of) if you didn’t have to pay that fee…but idk.
@tacoturnip: you are not required to accept UCSD if accepted off the waitlist. It is not binding.

@cchen24 I have a 4.0 GPA across 59 graded credit hours taken between Fall 2017 and Fall 2018. I attend neither a 4-year university nor a California Community College. I attend the City Colleges of Chicago, a community college district in Chicago.
I have no experience with appealing but I do know that with all universities, successful appeals are extremely rare, and unless you have new information not included in your original application that is both overwhelmingly extenuating and bafflingly unique, it is unlikely to succeed.
