UCSD Freshman Info Website

<p>Hey there. I've been a member of the forums ever since I started my college search. I made it to UCSD and am still here and happy.</p>

<p>As a freshman I was so confused and knew little about the way things work at UCSD, a lot of stuff I did not know and information was not given to me.</p>

<p>I am thinking about starting a website that would contain information for incoming students about UCSD. A lot of the stuff is either stuff that UCSD doesn't tell you, or does a terrible job at telling you. </p>

<p>What information would YOU like to see at a website like this?</p>

<p>Currently I've been thinking of:
-social aspect
-student organizations
-student life
-transportation
-academics
-resources
-dining/food
-stuff to do in SD
etc...</p>

<p>I'd have a team of different students working to build a nice database of info for people who'd like to know more about the school.</p>

<p>I'd appreciate any of your input, thanks!</p>

<p>definitely what cool mr. tien said....teacher reviews would get you LOTS of hits...also, information about majors (i.e. how difficult specific ones are, what classes are worth taking) from actual students..dorms pics from students...(not all college websites have tours)...information about lecture rooms, note taking tips, study tips in general, oh oh oh ways to get involved and what clubs are most active...I'll post back with more once I think of them..OH also it would be cool to have like various freshman, sophomore, junior, senior blogs to see what typical days are like with daily "lesson's learned" tidbits (I wouldn't mind contributing as a freshman blogger)</p>

<p>Wow, all of these ideas are great! I especially like the one about tours and pictures of the dorms. I'm sure I can find at least a couple students from each living arrangement to participate and be filmed or what not. </p>

<p>About the professor rating, I think I would just link to well established websites that do this. There are a couple, I think. </p>

<p>higher quality and up to date pictures of UCSD would be nice. it's impossible to get an idea of what UCSD looks like on the website because of all the old and porr quality pictures of the campus, students, dorms, etc.</p>
