UCSD or Berkeley?

I've been accepted into a few schools for Psychology (transfer) and am still looking into them these next two weeks before making my decision. Right now I'm deciding between Cal and UCSD.

One issue I have is that I've done the school thing before in the bay area and lived everywhere else in Northern California. I think living in San Diego would be an interesting change of pace. Besides, I hate the dampness, fog, and wind of the SF area and don't feel like battling moldy apartments anymore!

So really, I've done the tours, looked at the department websites and am leaning towards Berkeley because it's generally regarded as the more prestigious school. I haven't heard a ton from students in the psych program at UCSD. Has anyone else been in a similar situation as my own, specifically it would be great if you're a psych student at SD, and maybe has some insight I'm sorely lacking? Thanks.

Don’t worry about prestige! Go where you will be happier. Which department do you like better? What kind of atmosphere, weather, social environment would you like to be in for the next ~2 years?
The psych program is pretty legit here as far as I know (I’m a fellow social scientist but not a psychologist). Maybe contact the advisor/ go on the website for the department to see what kind of research is being done and what kind of professors are in it?

I was in same situation. I visit both schools and I was able to make my decision.
