UCSD or Northeastern

Hi guys,

I’m struggling with this decision. I was accepted into both school’s CS programs, and into the Muir College at UCSD. I know that UCSD’s CS program is better than NE’s, but some other factors play into my decision as well. I was given the Dean’s Scholarship at NE (essentially the Honors Program with extra money) and I have a chronic illness that I have regular hospital visits with my doctor for. The relocation to California would mean finding a new doctor and hospital. What do you guys think?

We have the same situation.(Almost) For me, I would choose UCSD because I am tried of east coast and ucsd has a better program. If your illness is very serious, I think it is maybe better for you to go to NE. You should never risk your health for a slightly better school. You can also stay at NE for a year, and transfer to top schools around the area.(MIT etc.) Plus, NE is cheaper for you though starting salaries for cs major in both schools are almost the same.
