personally, i would like to choose UCSD... (as i posted above, i got into comp engineering)...but IM STILL NOT SURE.
Because, first of all, im going into business no matter what, and in order to do that, i need work experience, which would be much easier if i go to USC and graduate from there ~_~ USC alumni is powerful.
However, $$$ !!!! is the problem. ahhhhhhhhhh

if i got any scholarship... trustee/presidential/dean's... from USC...
i would definitely go for USC...

masterchiefll - They can hook you up with great internships/jobs. The name USC itself has a lot of prestige too... I know this for a fact because both my parents are USC alumni and the program is great.

i got into ERC at ucsd. i want to do pre-med, too. i'm choosing between ucsd, usc, and u of chicago. my mom's pushing ucsd over usc because of the money, and i just read above that ucsd is "without a doubt" better than usc for pre-med, can someone elaborate on this? i'm not disagreeing i'd just like to know the reasoning behind it. and if anyone has any opinions about u of chicago vs. ucsd for pre-med, i'd love to hear them. i don't know much about ucsd's social scene or its academic rigor (usc is heavy in the former while u of chicago is heavy in the latter...i'd love to find somewhere with a balance). chicago has winter from november to april...how does ucsd compare? any advice would be much appreciated!

i've talked to a lot of people and they all say that UCSD is the place to be for science right now. i read somewhere that UCSD sends more kids to med school than any other public university in the country. i visited USC on admit day, and the premed stuff there seemed pretty good, but UCSD just still seemed better to me. i don't really know what to say because i don't know that much about premed at UCSD or USC either, but in the fall I will be at UCSD in ERC!

not at all. this is what i've heard as well. that's why i've turned down a regents and chancellors at ucb to be a premed student at ucsd this fall.
in terms of ranking: usc is #48 in the world, and ucsd is #13. however, the alumni at usc are supportive and helpful, though.
