UCSD scholarships?

Hi :)

So I recently got accepted into UCSD (YAY EXCITEMENT) and was offered the Jacobs School Scholarship. I have never heard of it, and Google was not very helpful, so I'm wondering if anybody here has any info on it.

Like, how many people per year get it? If I don't accept it, does it go to someone else?

The information sheet they sent me told me that gives recipients a financial aid for the four undergraduate years, plus library and on-campus housing privileges.

My family's discussing college choices, so any input or opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! ^^

Library privileges? What does that entail?

I believe its this. http://www.jacobsschool.ucsd.edu/news/news_resources/docs/JacobsScholars.pdf</a>. Scroll to bottom half of page 3 under Jacobs School Undergraduate Scholar

Jacobs School Undergraduate Scholar
Although the most competitive high school students apply
to UCSD, many ultimately choose to attend other universities
because they are offered better financial incentives. In order
for the Jacobs School to attract and enroll the most promising
future engineers, we must offer more competitive financial
packages. **The Jacobs School Undergraduate Scholar program
provides outstanding incoming freshman with full tuition, fees,
and room and board for four years **— supporting our tradition
of excellent students who become successful alumni and the
next generation of technology leaders.

I would call and verify and if it is true it will probably be reflected in your predicted Financial Aid Award so check just in case.

My S got one in the mail package the other day. It says it will cover all expenses and the estimated amount each year is about $26k+ ($110k for 4 years). It is a very attractive offer. I was not able to qualify for any financial aid but this will help the family a great deal.

Thanks for the help!
I have a better idea now. :)
