<p>I wasn't able to get down there for admit day but am going this week to visit. I signed up for a tour followed by some sort of info session. Will the tour include a look at the dorms? Are there places I should check out that won't be part of the tour? Thanks in advance for any info.</p>
<p>if dorms aren’t included, just wander by a college, snag a passing student, and explain your predicament. usually they’ll be like hmm ok that’s a weird request, but whatever.</p>
<p>just make sure you’re dressed presentably.</p>
<p>students there are nice, most of them are willingly to show you around if asked nicely and if they’re free. thats what i did yesterday lol!</p>
<p>I had some old high school friends, who are now at UCSD, show me around campus, and I had dinner with them as well. </p>
<p>An informal tour is HIGHLY recommended, since you get to see the other side of campus life other than what they tell you at Admit Day, which often tends to be quite superficial.</p>
<p>anything campus-organized is superficial and dolled up. if anything, you’re best off talking to people who AREN’T being given incentives to volunteer at those things – like alums who still ■■■■■ this forum :)</p>
