UCSD, UCB, Other UC's and CAL TECH

<p>I'm a junior currently, from California (in state) </p>

<p>I want to major in computer science or information technology, very interested in computers. i have built my own / help people with their tech problems</p>

<p>Freshmen GPA</p>

<p>Weighted: 4.0
Non: 4.0</p>

<p>Sophomore:</p>

<p>Semester 1 Weighted: 4.1 -
Semester 1 Non weighted: 3.84
Semester 2 Weighted 4.3 -
Semester 2 Non weighted - 4.0</p>

<p>Junior (Currently):</p>

<p>Semester 1 Weighted: 4.5
Semester 1 Non weighted: 4.0</p>

<p>In my senior year im taking classes taught by college professors @ my high school for college units. (Calculus and Political Science) and my GPA will remain consistent </p>

<p>class rank: exact rank not sure but top 10% for sure, about 500 kids graduating in my year</p>

<p>SAT 1 Projected - ~2000 (Took it march10th waiting on scores =])</p>

<p>Subject Tests:</p>

<p>Math 2 - 570 took this my sophomore year without taking pre calculus - should i retake?</p>

<p>World history - 450 - i am amazing at history, no lie (LOL) - i screwed up </p>

<p>Going to take another subject test, need to make up for that world history, most likely taking english</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:</p>

<p>200+ Hours of community service at a summer camp working with kids
president of computer club
varsity tennis team</p>

<p>Work Exp:</p>

<p>working at local hospital, currently have held job for 1.5 years.</p>

<p>Awards:</p>

<p>principals honor roll
achievements in computer science</p>

<p>my first choices would be the UC schools like UCSD, UCB, UCD, UCI etc.</p>

<p>Cal Tech would be a reach i think</p>

UCD/UCI: safe match
Caltech: probably a reach</p>

<p>You need to take another two subject tests; those scores are a bit low for Berkeley. Your awards are a little weak.</p>

ucd/uci: match</p>

<p>Uhnnn..... Caltech might be a bit of a reach... is that your first choice school though? If it is, you should work towards it... maybe SAT II Math II scores? Good Luck!</p>
