Invited to UCSD Scholar's Day

The UCs are my top choices, but I applied to a few big reaches, and chances for those would be nice as well :)

UCSD
UCLA
UCB
MIT
Harvard
Princeton
UPenn

You should be in at UCSD and your stats are right about average for UCB and UCLA, so good chance with a good application.

For the others we’d need more info such as if you took all the APs your school offers (you look light on them) and how close you are to the top of your class. The majority of the unhooked who get into H and P are val or sal and typically have national/international awards and honors. Hard to believe UCI wouldn’t come with a Regents for a H, P or MIT accepted student. All the UC’s should come with a Regents for that student. Maybe Penn.

It’s not possible to take all of the APs offered at my school (at least, to my knowledge). But I have 6-8 classes each year, with most students having a 6 class year. Apart from mandatory classes for graduation, I’ve taken any and all honors I could.

Most of the APs I have not taken the test for are arts and foreign languages. Besides those, I haven’t taken Statistical Analysis, Physics B, Calculus AB, World History, European History and US History (among the ones offered at my school).

Thanks for your input :).

I’m also not sure on what the UC admissions statistics say for average GPAs on a 5 point scale, as the UC GPA is out of 4.5.

My uncapped 10-11 GPA is 4.86.

You should get in at the top tier UCs most likely.

Thanks for the chances so far.

Any more opinions?

Your SAT II scores seem to kinda make up for your lack of APs
blah blah blah. i think everyone willl tell you that you have a solid chance.
But you’ll never know…

yea im not too familiar with UC’s but I think you got some chance considering you took a bunch of AP’s and have good scores. Your ec’s kinda lack is all thats a problem

For those who are saying “yeah you’ll most likely get into top UCs”, that is a total understatement.

Your GPA is above their average, and your ACT/SAT IIs are INSANELY above their average. You also got decent ECs, which aren’t weighted a whole ton at UCs (although definitely worth a good chunk). Honestly, don’t sweat the UCs, you’re in at all of them.

Wow if you are not ELC with your GPA, your school must be really easy.

Thanks, looks like I have a good chance to get in my 1st choice, UCLA :)
