I'm a biology major, premed, hoping to become a pediatrician. I'm stuck mostly between UCSD and Cornell right now. I've heard that the biology program at UC San Diego is amaaaazing - perhaps even better than Cornell's? I'm in the School of Arts & Sciences for Cornell and in John Muir for UCSD. (I might add that I was admitted into UC Berkeley (College of Letters and Science) as well.. but for some reason I've never really wanted to go there THAT much).

As a side note: I'm from NorCal but I've been studying in Singapore for the last three years of high school.

Your opinions/advice would be greatly appreciated. And as sooooon as possible - May 1st is looming ahead.

Well, how much money did Cornell offer you? If it’s not very much, then you might really be better off at SD. 50k vs 20k for an education that definitely isnt 2.5x better?

One of my suitemates got into Cornell with a pretty big grant, yet (obviously) she chose UCSD for their Bioengineering program.

When I had my interview with a Cornell alum, she was talking to me about how cold it is for most of the year and how you don’t see the ground until April (as Astrina said). She told me about how all she did was study since the libraries are open 24-hours, and friday night, her date was “with her books”. She also mentioned that Ithaca is three hours away from NYC/Boston, etc.

Sorry, not trying to bash Cornell even though it seems like it >:|
Cornell is great, and holds a lot of prestige, but UCSD does as well, and I think UCSD offers a better overall college experience in comparison to Cornell (located in a safe city, big city is within close proximity, great biology/science departments, GREAT weather)

Congrats on all your admissions though, and good luck with your decision(:
