I was accepted underclared everywhere but I’m planning to major in either business or physcology. Here are my general concerns/likes about each campus.
UCSD
Pros:
San Diego
most “prestigous” school, best academics?? (idk for sure)
Cons:
Not as social or well-rounded as some of the other schools
SDSU Webers Honors
Pros:
Honors college perks so smaller class size, etc.
More well rounded socially I think
USD
Pros:
Smaller class sizes
Really cool international business prorgram
Cons:
Expensive
Not the best social life either, less well rounded
UCD:
Pros:
good physcology department
Cons:
Middle of nowhere
I visited and I wasn’t feeling it that much
I’m keeping the lists short because I want feedback. I feel like each college is such a different atmosphere that I’m basically picking who I want to be in the future and I’m struggling a lot w the decision that needs to be made in like two days. Any feedback is appreciated!
Cons for SDSU are state school rep and less rigorous academics
Eliminate USD - expensive and not strong in academics.
UCSD Psychology is very strong.
Have you considered the difficulty of declaring either of your 2 majors of interest? Each school will outline what you need to do to change majors and some require a specific GPA in pre-req courses before declaring the major.
UCD and UCSD do not have a Business school so check out the curriculum of each major that you are interested in pursuing to see if these majors will meet your interests and needs.
Prestige will not get you a better job/income if you plan to pursue Psychology or Business. Also with Psychology, you are looking at Graduate school so consider those costs in your decision.
you have to decide how much interest you have in “business” as the two UC’s do not have a undergrad business major.
What are the costs to attend each? And financial aid or merit money at USD? Either UC? Scholarship at SDSU?
