UCSD Vs. UC Davis

I've been admitted as a Poli/Sci majors to both. Prestige doesn't really matter to me. I'm looking for a college where I can have a great time, do what I like to do, and get a great GPA (which means I would prefer interesting, easy classes, but then again who doesn't?). I enjoy history and politics and absolutely hate all math and science. Grad school may be somewhere in my future, but after college I want to be a pilot in the Air National Guard, and all they care about is a clean record and a stellar GPA. Davis is located by Travis air force base, and I plan on enlisting in the air force reserve as a C-17 loadmaster. Commuting to and from base during drill weekends would be much easier at Davis. Additionally, I'm a licensed and Instrument Rated Private Pilot, and Davis literally has an airport on campus. I'm also a mountain biker and an outdoors type of person, and Davis seems to have that kind atmosphere.

Then again, I keep telling myself I must be crazy for turning down sunshine, the beach, and chicks for an agricultural school. Again, my main goals are to have a great time and knock my GPA out of the park. Which college environment would be better for me?

Just from your post, it sounds like you would really like Davis. And honestly, I doubt it’s that much sunnier in San Diego on average and the I would say the general consensus is that the girls at Davis are hotter, but whatever.

UC Davis, UCSD, UCSB, UC Irvine are relatively evenly ranked and provide different things for different folks. I say go to Davis if you want, it sounds like a good fit in terms of what you value for quality of life.

For Poly/Sci, going to UC Davis would allow close proximity to Sacramento for government internships.
