i was accepted into ucsd (major = bioengineering, college = revelle) and ucla (major = life science undeclared) and i'm asking around for advice on which school to go to.

i know that ucsd's bioengineering program is one of the best in the nation but if i switch majors, it's not nearly as good as ucla

any advice (even on campus life, dorms, etc) will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!

i know more bioengineer dropouts than successful bioengineer majors ... it sounds really interesting to study, but keep in mind they're not going to water down the hardcore ENGINEERING portion of it.

Eh what are you talking about..UCSD's BioEngineering program > UCLA bio engi...UCSD's bio engineering program is much higher in ranking than UCLA's..

To tell you the truth, bioengineering really does not have good job prospects. Compared to the other engineering majors, bioengineering has the least amount of job openings. Therefore, you'll do all that hard work for really nothing (in most cases). Plus, Revelle is a tough college to begin with. Engineering courses on top of all the GEs is going to be one hard couseload. Unless you completely love it, you should switch to some other major or just go to UCLA. It's definitely a privilege to even have the opportunity to be able to attend UCLA.

I'm trying to decide between UCSD and UCLA as well. Sorry to hijack your thread, but should I go to UCSD or UCLA for biochemistry major? I got into UCSD in Sixth's college btw. Thanks

deutsch - you should go to the one you want to go to. no matter what we say, you're going to be the one making that decision. don't rush though and consider both choices well.
