Hi. I'm applying to UCSD as a freshman for 2013. I'm inclined towards Computer Science, but I am not adamant on necessarily going through with it. I like it a lot, but I'm not sure I have enough exposure to it to decide yet. Anyway, what do you guys suggest my order of colleges should be? I've been reading up on them, but the descriptions strike me as kind of necessary for certain majors. Are there colleges that have a more fluid major change process (for example, GE requirements that cover a variety of majors)? I would really appreciate some advice. Thanks a lot.

Anyone? I can’t find any very illuminating advice elsewhere…

Best would be to review the breadth requirements of each and see which one most matches the courses you want to take. Pay attention to the number of breadth requirement courses or credit units, in case you are considering majors with large numbers of courses or credit units.

I researched a lot about this just a few days ago! In the end, I decided to go with Muir, Warren, Marshall, Revelle, Sixth, ERC. I factored in the ease of their GEs and also proximity to the Price Center. This really helped me out [The Six Colleges of UCSD – A Ranking Guide for Applicants | The Rebertian Times](<a href=“Blog — chrisrebert.com”>Blog — chrisrebert.com)

I think that’s how mine turned out as well. Are you in the same situation (computer science/undeclared) as me? I’m scared to put Revelle as anything but last though, my friends who are in it say it’s a lot harder than the others…

Also, how do they accept you into college? Everything I’ve read says almost everyone applies Muir first… So, do they accept you into a college based on your interests or just by chance?

Sorry, but anyone?
I can’t seem to find anything on how they put students into the different colleges.
Also, can you pick/request a specific roommate as a freshman?
