UDel or Syracuse?

I got into both, and the financial situation is better at Delaware. I attended the admitted students day this past weekend and loved the school. I'm going to visit Syracuse this week, but I was wondering what peoples' thoughts were on both, because if Syracuse doesn't blow me away I'm probably going to go to UDel.

What major? Syracuse has better sports, if that matters, but more snow (in normal years).

I’m majoring in political science, and I’m going to double major depending where I go.

Well, that was my son’s position last week. We did Syracuse last Monday, including the Newhouse School, and we were very impressed. It swayed my son enough that he said UD would have to “wow” him to change his mind. This past Saturday we were at UD and they succeeded. His deposits went in Sunday morning. He said he could go to either, but would second guess his decision if he chose Syracuse.

It is a very personal decision, but like we told my son, there is no bad choice to be made.

Good luck!

As an undergraduate in political science at Syracuse, you would have the opportunity to take classes from professors in the Maxwell School which is number one in graduate public affairs. Delaware is also a very good school in many areas. It has a nice quality of life while SU does have the big time sports. The weather is as bad as they say at Syracuse although this winter may have been an exception. I would say that it depends on your long term career aspirations and what you are looking for in a school.
