UDM 7 Year BS/DDS Program.

Stats:
-GPA- 3.45 (Might go up to a 3.48)
-Freshman 3.2
-Sophomore-3.4
-Junior- 3.75 (Might go up to 3.875)

School: Full IB school, ranked ninth nationally and number one in Michigan!

ACT: 30 (I’m still a junior so I hope to take it again)

EC: Not much really. I am a Student Association President with over 60 Members but other then that, I didn’t join many competitions or clubs, just focused on this.

Volunteering: Lot’s of volunteering. I volunteered as an IT consultant (people called about technology issues and I fixed them) at a major national event in Detroit Michigan (40 hours). I hope to get accepted to a 100+ hour volunteering job at my mom’s hospital (high chance) which I will do over them summer. I shadowed a dentist (24 hours). Plus other fundraisers I hosted and attended as a volunteer.

I’m still a junior, so is there any other EC’s/Volunteering things I can do to help show UDM that I am focused to become a dentist.

If I don’t get accepted to UDM. Then does the university you attend affect your chances of getting into dental school? I want to go to Wayne State University as a backup since they offer a lot of scholarships and it’s close to my home. Thanks in advanced. (Please give me other tips in general on the path to becoming a dentist!).

UDM accelerated dental: Reach
UDM regular: Safety
Wayne State: Safety

Thank you for your post! Do you think there are things I can do to increase my chances of getting accepted to the accelerated dental program for UDM? Also, what are my chances to get accepted to MSU and UMich Ann Arbor?

MSU: Safety
UMich-Ann Arbor: High match

Whats the difference between safety and High match? Is safety a guarantee, and a high match a likely?

With EC’s thing, it wouldn’t hurt to get more. Although most colleges look at the ones you’ve been in the longest and show leadership on.

But if you apply to UDM, and not the dental program, you’re good. Don’t take my word for it, but I think you’re good.
