UF 2021 OFFICIAL DISCUSSION PAGE!!!

@sushipanda my uf gpa is around a 4.0 so that’s definitely below average. My act was a 31 tho

@herosaurus17 Are you OOS? I’ve heard UF is more lenient with OOS students. If you’re in state do you come from a competitive county?

Also, what was your course rigor like?

@sushipanda yeah I’m oos… I have 3 ap and 10 honors but I went to a competitive private High school.

You are sweet, Thank you so much… Will do…

Just by looking at his post history I can tell what high school he went to. He gave away his geographic location and only one high school in that area has IB.

From there, it would not be difficult for UF to look at the other information he listed including extracurriculars, SAT score, and past grades/courses.

@agator441 Please keep us updated lol, that guy fucked up.

Wait wtf he goes to my school. Way to screw up our reputation -_-

So you’re probably in AP/IB classes together?

Tbh that guy is probably messing with us. Why would he just randomly blurt out that he wasn’t actually First Generation without any good reason to?

Probably wanted attention, but we’ll see. Plus, if he applied for any scholarships for First Generation students based on his FAFSA, he would probably have been discovered anyways.

@Trisherella I don’t think so. I’m still a Junior that’s been lurking around because I’m nervous about my own upcoming decision next year. Most of my classes are Juniors only and the classes with Seniors in them only have one or two.

I remember him because when he first mentioned that he was from my school I got excited and messaged him asking if I knew who he was. He never replied though lol, I probably came off as too creepy. Probably unknowingly saw him in the halls though

@UFapplicant73461 Maybe. Personally, I think he was trying to gloat in front of others.

Wait w.t.f, the Senior schedule he listed doesn’t even make sense. I’m pretty sure Seniors have to take 4 HL courses, which wouldn’t allow him to have an SL Bio in his schedule (I’m in that class right now and I don’t think any Seniors are in it…). Plus, IB Spanish SL is a newly offered course this year, so I have no idea how he would’ve taken that considering that only AP Spanish existed when I was a sophomore.

Also, we don’t have a Biology club…or at least I haven’t heard of one…we have a Bio Olympiad but that’s completely different and it was started by my friend

Wait nvm, he’s SL Chem, and I think there are some Seniors in that class. Still, I don’t think that he’s allowed to only have 3 HL, unless his Spanish is HL?

They admitted 400 less freshman in total but accepted 600 more people to IA than the last two years.

Hey y’all, I was recently admitted to the Innovation academy for engineering, which is the major I applied for. However, since submitting my application my intended major has switched to statistics, a major not offered by the innovation academy. Is it possible for me to switch out of the innovation academy in order to pursue the major I actually want to go into, or did I screw myself over?

“IA” should really stand for “In Accidentally.”

lol. Just kidding. Sort of.

They should really put a disclaimer in there somewhere that tells you that you CANNOT take classes on campus in the Fall if you are part of the program. Students really ought to be aware of that so they can make an informed choice.

How do we know if we were rewarded with any merit scholarships?

Most merit scholarships get released by early March.
