THIS IS WHAT I GOT
As a prospective student receiving your AA degree or 60 credits in addition to your high school diploma, we will be reviewing your college GPA, and the completion of prerequisite courses for your major, along with other pertinent information for transfer admission. Your major is very important in the transfer review process. Please contact the Office of Admissions immediately if you need to add or change your major.
In the next few days, you will receive an important email regarding the creation of your GatorLink account, which will be needed to check your application status as a transfer applicant. If you are admitted to UF as a transfer student, the GatorLink will be your official UF email address.
We appreciate your patience as we continue to evaluate your college-level coursework.
Sincerely,
Office of Admissions
University of Florida
@jamie26 I had no idea that was an option. I hope you get in dude. My admissions letter is literally 2 sentences. Other people had like another little paragraph abt gator link or something.

Accepted, 4.35 GPA, 18 AP/IB classes taken, etc.
SAT - 1380
Class Rank - Top 15 or 20%
Extra curriculars - Few minor clubs, leadership position in one of them.
Volunteering - 110 hours
Hooks - I put First Generation even though I’m not, Low income, IB
@PupuLovesPickles You lied about first generation?
@PupuLovesPickles @stem2017 I guess the ends justify the means? Holy ****. That’s really risky.
@STEM2017 Well I didn’t think they’d care to check with over 35,000 applicants. If they did they probably wouldn’t be able to find much since my mom didn’t go to college at all and my dad went to some random college in a different country40 years ago. They could’ve looked at my parents’ jobs and assumed that I was first generation since both my parents are working low income jobs that anyone could get.
I don’t think the university he attended would show up in any public record, maybe it does and I just got really lucky?
Very risky and unethical @PupuLovesPickles But who am I to judge?
Just remember that if they ever find out, EVER, you could lose everything.
@STEM2017 I doubt they will. None of my friends know and I obviously won’t tell them.
With the amount of students they’re reviewing, I highly doubt they want to spend a bunch of time confirming each applicants’ validity. They probably only check if they think something is suspicious with your application, but I doubt anything in my profile made it seem like I wasn’t a first generation student or that I didn’t do those extra curricular activities. For the ECs that I made up and exaggerated, even if they did want to call the school they wouldn’t find anything useful. We don’t really have club rosters and I even lied to my guidance counselor about ECs because I knew she couldn’t check them.
At the end of the day, I don’t care how unethical my means were as long as I secured my place at UF, and honestly, in hindsight I don’t think putting first generation did anything to my application anyways. My friends with pretty much the same stats as me got in and they aren’t first generation.
@PupuLovesPickles Let me know how that works out for you.
BTW, you’ve given a lot of info about yourself in your 46 posts here on CC. Anyone who feels irritated or violated by your actions could easily put together a pretty telling email to UF admissions about you.
Anyway, good luck.
@STEM2017 Who’s to say that some of the information is fake? This is CC after all.
Lol
Lying on college applications is kind of like mortgage fraud. Sure, many people are get away with it but those who get caught get into HUGE trouble. Personally, I don’t think I could bring myself to make such a big lie and deviate from who I am to get into UF (or any other college).
@PupuLovesPickles Even if you put the ethics aside, are you not worried about getting caught some time in the next four years? Like @STEM2017 said, what if you irritate someone who decides to start digging? Hell, UF may even accidently discover your misrepresentation and decide to make an example out of you.
Can anyone who was part of the 25th percentile post their other stats that they think might’ve gotten them in?
@sushipanda I must commend you on your excellent screen name

@kit4kat Sorry to hear you did not get accepted to UF. Your stats are very impressive. I am on other CC threads and I can tell you that mistakes happen all the time. Call admissions on Monday and politely ask why you were rejected. A lot of times I’ve seen the decision be reversed. It’s worth a try. Best of Luck!!
