UF 2021 OFFICIAL DISCUSSION PAGE!!!

@SouthFloridaMom9 and $600 per yearbook for textbooks. And rightfully so, BF was gutted during the recession; it used to cover 100% of tuition plus a book stipend. Hopefully it takes effect in fall 2017.

^^yes!!!

Nothing in spam folder but he’ll keep an eye on it. Thanks.

Another one found in SPAM …fyi

@STEM2017 your child should also be able to log onto one.uf and get the information.

@Melissa96 My child should also be able to take out the trash and tidy his room without reminders, but that’s for another thread. :))

Thank you! I will tell him.

In the unlikely case my S was awarded merit scholarship money, would it be in One.uf right now? All we see is parent and student loans…lots of them.

Yes, it would be on one.uf now.

@STEM2017 UF is taking the COA minus other financial aid (including student loans) = Parental Plus Loan amount. (at least, that’s what they did to us)

They also will “award” up to $5,500 in student loans (the most they can award to First-Year undergraduates). No more than $3,500 in subsidized loans, the rest in unsub loans.

Yep, that’s a lot of loans…

I was praying to get any amount of scholarship money, but after seeing the stats of some people who didn’t get any aid I am wondering how they even selected scholarship recipients

Merit money is definitely not automatic with a 35 or 2300 (on the old scale of SAT, I don’t know what the equivalent score is for the new test). I think UF takes into account more so ECs and race.

So does this mean all scholarship notifications have been sent or is it still possible to receive some?

[-O<

@brady12345 I believe all notifications went out this past Friday

All merit scholarship notifications were sent last Friday.

So really, for U.of Fl. My NMF award means nothing for merit?

@SFLmom I am also NMF and got nada! Lol! Bummer!

But you get full ride+BF. That’s more than the COA.

Who gets full ride @Icgusa?

And can someone tell me when the Bright futures awards come out or decisions are made as to who gets them?
