@snicks1234 Contact UF and make sure!
@snicks1234 I would call UF Admissions or FA tomorrow and ask as I am not familiar with homeschool rules. Were you listed as a Florida NMSF? This list has all the FL NMSFs: http://www.fldoe.org/core/fileparse.php/5673/urlt/17NatlMeritSemi.pdf
Received my packet in the mail today. I got my financial aid email in the spam folder too. No scholarships aside from Bright Futures
Hold on, nothing is binding until i pay my deposit right?
@mdchang99 correct. We went ahead and did housing but not actual acceptance. You have until 5/1.
@kslinky do you need to pay anything to compete the housing contract that came out today?
And from last year’s thread for the newly admitted NMFs at UF who put UF as their 1st choice, the Benacquisto does not post to your Financial Aid awards until much later so don’t panic.
We paid a $225 fee to complete the housing contract. Looked like he could add roommates and list dorm preferences as well but he wasn’t quite ready for that yet.
@herosaurus17 we didn’t because we have FL prepaid dorm.
@18yrcollegemin yep. Florida NMF.
My florida prepaid just takes care of tuition.
@Gator88NE We’ve found a way to make it work financially for us – it’s spelled U-C-F.
Once I log onto ONE.UF, where am I able to see financial aid/ scholarships?
Nevermind, got nothing! Yikes $43,000 is a lot
HI ALL okay so I got an email saying there’s a financial aid package for me to see but I can’t seem to be able to access it! It keeps taking me to a “Student Permissions” page where it asks me to agree to let UF use my federal aid money for purposes other than tuition and room/board (like parking decals, books, etc.) I already OK’d this but I still can’t access the financial aid page, is anyone else having this problem?
@C_Marie yes, we did the same. From the same page click on “next” or “continue” (i can’t remember which it was now). It will take you to your aid information.
nvm nvm it’s all good-- I guess I didn’t get a scholarship. I only see about $2k for a “Predicted FL Academic Scholar” Award, some work study, plus $15k loans.
@C_Marie you may have to reenter the site for it to work.
Thank you @kslinky. We will do that!
I’m very discouraged after crunching the numbers and seeing how much this is going to cost…
