<p>Okay, so is it supposed to be 500 words or the character limit.. because the application says 400-500 words, but the character limit will allow more words... But I feel like that is unfair because some people made their essays 700 words, while people like me stuck with 500 words essays and had to cut out a lot of stuff.</p>

<p>Admissions is probably quite familiar with what 500 words looks like. If they went way over like that, it will be noticed.</p>
<p>I thought that at first but then I saw that they underlined the maximum word length- They will most likely have a word counter. People over the limit will be penalized for it.</p>
