Hey there, only a junior in high school so still got some time, but I was looking into UF and was wondering what ya'll think I may get in financial aid, or if I will even get accepted. Also if I do not meet criteria then what I can do to get more aid.

Looks like you’re pretty likely to be accepted, although you should probably try and pull that unweighted GPA higher; UF has been getting picky lately! As for aid, UF is pretty stingy. We have the second most National Merit scholars of anywhere in the country (second only to Harvard), and so those kids basically get most of the merit aid. It’s not much; I’m a NatMer and I get about $500/year from UF for it, which is pennies compared to how much living and tuition cost. Ask about the Douglas I. Turner grant, and be sure to fill out your FAFSA on Jan 1st (or as close to it as possible) next year so that you’ll be in the front of the line for aid. Good luck! If you have any more questions, let me know!

Um, a 4.0 UNweighted is perfect, Alovestori. That’s the highest it can be UNweighted. But you may want to take more AP classes next year. Also, 160 volunteer hours isn’t really considered a lot, so try to do something good over the summer. I would think you’d get in, but unless you’re really great at a sport (as in athletic scholarship), I wouldn’t think you’d get a scholarship.

So far so good you have done perfect in high school and without a doubt you will be accepted to the University of Florida but, Don’t count on any merit aid and scholarship is minimal at best.

Only flaw to an otherwise excellent transcript is the weighed GPA. AP IB and DE are the only way to significantly boost your UF GPA. Since you got 4.0 and 8 honors, it can probably be safe to assume you have 4.4, which is barely above average.

Your chances look good, but you’d probably want more AP if you had the opportunity.
