UF or FSU Economics

I’m looking to major in economics as a social science not business, but I’m not sure which school to choose. I know UF has a higher ranking in economics, but their courses in comparison to FSU seem dull. FSU has a course on the history of economic thought, as well a course in behavior economics (one of the newest branches in economics) and I think that is absolutely awesome.

Also I remembering hearing about UF downsizing their economics department… is this true? Overall UF seems unenthusiastic about their economics program outside of business.

Economics majors please help me!

Thanks

I wouldn’t worry about the ratings. FSU’s program is good, and if it has the courses you’re interested in, go for it.

UF isn’t downsizing the economics department. Instead they are moving the department out of the Business school into the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS). Lots of reasons for this, but one is to grow the Phd program.
