I plan on becoming a pharmacist but I’m stuck between The University of Florida and The University of South Florida. UF is closer to my hometown and has a better reputation, but it also has a lot of competition. On the other hand, USF is where my sister will likely be going to grad school, but it’s farther away and I don’t really know much about their program compared to UF. Or I could go to UCF (where my sister currently attends school) to get my pharmacy prerequisites and then transfer to UF or USF later. I’ve visited UCF multiple times and I really like the campus. However, they don’t have a pharmacy program there so I won’t have the upper-hand of actually going to the same school for undergrad when applying to pharmacy school. I’m just stuck, please help!
Does either of them have an early assurance or conditional admission program for high school students?
So if you went there for prepharmacy and had a certain GPA, you would be accepted to their pharmacy school?
Right now you are not applying to pharmacy school yet, just doing your prerequisites.
But you should keep costs down if possible, because pharmacy school is expensive.

According to this UF requires 2-4 yrs prepharmacy, and USF 3 years prepharmacy, with bachelor’s degree pr
eferred.
UF requires 8 cr of physics and 81 total prerequisite credits, USF requires 4 cr physics and 72 credits prerequisites.
When you get your prerequisites out of the way, and it’s time for pharmacy school applications, also look at tuition, fees, cost of apartments close to campus, and NAPLEX pass rates of each program.
“Prestige” doesn’t really factor in.

you might also want to consider Palm Beach Atlantic and NSU
Thank you so much for the information! This will definitely make things easier when I have to make the decision haha
