should things be listed, or complete sentence for the UF resume section? also, any specific way to fill out it? Any tips? Thanks so much for your help
also, any tips for the “additional info” section?
When laying out your ECs/work/volunteer/activities, list the year, and how many hours a week each activity took.
That way they can tell how your time was being spent. If you spent all of your free time, working, volunteering and practicing a sport/theater, UF will be impressed. Don’t short change how much time you’re spending in each activity.
Here is an example, you don’t have to follow this format, it’s just an example
XXX High School Cross Country team. 9th thru 12th grade; May thru Nov; 12 hours/week. Awards/Accomplishments XXXX
For your volunteer work, use a similar format, but explain a bit about what you did and how it helped.
When you list your Work experience, explain what you did, any responsibility you may have been given.
Use the additional info section to cover anything you didn’t have space for, or if you need to explain something (like heath issues in 10th grade causing a dip in your grades…).
@Gator88NE Thank you!! Do you think the additional info section would be a good place to reveal that UF is my top choice/dream school or is that not a wise idea? I was thinking of saying how I am passionate about UF and want to continue my sister’s legacy there or something (she is a UF alumni)
Sure, it can’t hurt. It’s a free section, Don’t forget to include “GO GATORS”! at the end
