<p>Hello,
Just checked my application status on University of Florida's website, and apparently I've passed the first tier of the admissions process (I'm a transfer, summer 2012). "Your application has been forwarded to your college," is what it says, unquote, so I'm looking at that in a positive light. Now, all I need is the English department's approval. Woot!
I plan on double majoring in English and Business Management at either UF or FSU, but, frankly, I am caught in between the pull of the two schools. I've been looking on **************.com for opinions on the English and Business departments, but many of the comments are years old, and most don't regard academics, which is what I was essentially looking for.
My question is essentially this:
How many English or Business majors out there would return to / recommend their respective school? What did you enjoy most about the school? What did you dislike?
Let any sweet old thought find its way onto this thread.
Looking forward to your replies.

<p>FSU Accounting major here - I would recommend FSU’s College of Business against UF’s CoB any day. Not that UF has a weak program, but I think Florida State’s is better. UF has/had “classes on tape”, which is no way to run a railroad.</p>
<p>Many Business majors in Florida State’s CoB are limited access which can make admission difficult.</p>
<p>I suggest you visit the departments and make your decision.</p>
<p>As to English, if creative writing is any indicator of excellence, FSU has been recognized as one of the nation’s finest departments by [The</a> Atlantic](<a href=“http://www.fsu.edu/news/2007/07/27/creative.writing/]The”>'The Atlantic' lists FSU's Creative Writing Program among 'Best of the Best'), for example.</p>
<p>Good luck and Go 'Noles!</p>
<p>Very cool article, Parent2noles. Yes, I do get the impression that FSU’s business and english programs are better than UF’s (and yes, I have heard of the video classes at UF’s CoB, not very endearing, frankly), so FSU is looking like a good choice at the moment.</p>
<p>As a side note, I have also heard that it is difficult to claim a spot in FSU’s Creative Writing seminars (which are needed to graduate) due to the amount of students attempting to register, leaving some students with no choice but to shift into the Literature concentration rather than Creative Writing. I saw that on students review dot com. Luckily, Creative Writing will not be my major if I decide to attend.</p>
<p>Chances of acceptance into FSU’s CoB as a double major is also something to take into account, and I will look into it when (fingers crossed) I get accepted.</p>
<p>Thanks for the reply, and best of luck to you as well, P2n.
