UF vs UNF

I am still trying to decide on which college to attend and I have until tomorrow lol. I was hoping to get some extra advice through this site. So here’s my situation: UF vs UNF (my home-town college)

I have florida pre-paid which will cover MOST of my tuition (I will have to pay extra fees regardless of which school i choose), and the academic bright futures scholarship (about $3000 a year).
However,

UNF: -I have a $16,000 scholarship (covers most of tuition), thus we can withdraw most of our pre-paid money
-I also only have to room for my first year, then after that I can stay with my parents and save money from room and board
tuition&fee cost: $4500ish a year

UF: - from my academic award letter, I’m predicted to receive two grants* that would be about $4,700
tuition cost: $6000ish a year

If I’m planning on going along the path of a physician assistant, or maybe physical therapist, which university would give me more bang for my buck (considering the costs for each university). Or is it worth it to go to UF giving up what I could save at UNF. Btw I want to go to UF, but the money is holding me back. (For UF I’m interested in the APK college, so if anyone has any reviews on that, it’d be much appreciated.)

FYI on Florida Prepaid.

You want to make sure you use it to pay part of your tuition at either schools.

Your prepaid plan is likely old enough, that the Differential Tuition Fee is not assessed (a valid Florida Prepaid contract as of 7/1/07). That’s a $37.63 charge per credit hour, that you’ll not have to pay, as long as you use your Florida Prepaid program.

So use your scholarship, and then pay the rest off with the Prepaid program (or the reverse) and have the rest deposit into your account (to pay the meal plan, etc.).

Oh alright thank you!

Go to UF. You can make similar arguments for FSU/UCF/USF vs UF, but UF will be a much better experience than UNF.

Unless I’m misunderstanding, there doesn’t look like a huge cost difference for tuition. You have to pay room and board at either for at least the first year, beyond that either room and board or live off campus. While UNF looks slightly cheaper, unless you would have to take out additional loans to cover it, it seems like it could be doable. If you like UF more, it looks like you could do it based on what I’m understanding here.
