"Three years after university officials capped the size of the freshman class at about 6,600, competition at UF is at an all-time high, forcing admissions workers to choose among the brightest and leaving behind an unprecedented number of disappointed families. Of those who applied to be part of this fall's incoming freshman class, an estimated 42 percent were accepted -- the lowest acceptance rate in the history of the state's public schools. Selectivity at the state's top university is expected to heighten as UF continues to work toward becoming one of the nation's Top 10 public universities. It should also be noted, the Yield rate was at 57% for last year."

Bump... Want to keep bumping to the top of the page. Hope you guys don't mind, but UF's switch needs to be brought to potential applicants attention.

I believe that UF will still accept applications after November 1st. ??? A friend called and was told this. I'm assuming this is to protect themselves in the event that the "word doesn't get out" in time, especially since this is the first year they've instituted this policy and many OOS students might naturally assume a December/January deadline. Hard to imagine UF turning down an exceptional candidate that was simply unaware and applied to all his colleges in, say, November (which is totally reasonable).

What's the switch? I have known of the deadline for a while. Did they switch the date they are taking the ACT and SAT up to, or is it something else?

No jaimeastorga, they're just referring to the change from 3 decisions to the 1 decision 1 deadline that you are already aware of. The SAT ACT deadlines are still in place

ok i have a question.
I turned in my app today, at the deadline.
but my application summary says i turned it in 11/2.
i am very confused, and i hope this is not an ugly situation.
can someone please respond?
