Hi - sorry I know I posted a question like this before, but I keep narrowing it down and trying to get fresh perspectives. I’d like to know what you think. Thanks!
My Values:
- Excitement/fun - There is more stuff to do in Atlanta and more opportunities for internships. However, most people don’t start interning until 3rd and 4th year anyway, and downtown Atlanta is not that far from Athens either. By that time, I’ll probably have a car at UGA. Is being at GSU to get internship opportunities overrated? I could also chill with the Tech and Emory kids.
- Aesthetics: UGA is prettier and has a campus-feel.
- Financial Aid: Both are practically free with Zell Miller and financial aid, but GSU has given me additional scholarships.
- Ratings: Both Terry and Robinson for business are rated about the same; however, UGA is seen as the better school overall. The Honors program seems better too.
- Sorority - I’m a minority and would feel odd if I was the only person of a different color in a panhellenic sorority, but there is a lot more diversity in GSU. However, both co-ed frats in UGA and GSU also have diversity.
- Challenging Courses - I’ve heard GSU’s pace was slower.
- Double Major and/or minor (have credits from high school that would help me take just a couple more courses to minor in spanish) - International Business/Finance/Econ/Spanish; Where would it be easier to do this?
- Location - Athens is more aesthetic and has a chill vibe, but I know I can love it in the city as well.
- Friends - UGA is more familiar, and I have a lot of friends or acquaintances there, but that’s also a con in the sense that I don’t want to see the same people I went to high school and middle school with. However, I love diversity in general, and I believe Atlanta’s the place for that.
- Freedom - Where would my parents be less likely to find out me doing stupid stuff? (Parents work in downtown).
Thank you in advance for your help!
