I've narrowed down my search to these two colleges for undergrad, and am dead set on going to medical school, preferably a prestigious one.

I've heard good things about the UGA honors program, but don't know much about Georgia Tech. I'm not certain of what I'm going to major in, but I'm leaning towards Biology.

Which school has better research opportunities? I've heard that medical schools definitely favor students with experience in research.

So, which school do you think would give me the best chance at getting into a top-notch medical school?

With my extremely limited knowledge I'd go with tech. I really don't think the honors things will impress anyone. However, tech isn't for everyone (high male to female ration, if that matters). They are both big public schools and thus will both probably provide good research opportunities. Pick based on your school preference, not which will give you a better pre-med chance because that is up to you (grades, mcat, what you do while at school X...), not the particular school.

Can't say anything about Tech, but I was at UGA for a conference a week ago and was extremely impressed with their honors college and their students. Several of their premed seniors were considering acceptances from very good medical schools. I guess that one guy's Rhodes helped a little.

Well I was thinking that with the size of Honors classes at UGA, I'll get a better education as well as a better chance of getting teacher recommendations. Wasn't sure about Tech, so decided to ask.

Georgia Tech, as an engineering school, probably tends to have severe grade deflation...I think I heard somewhere that a quarter of their freshman class fails...I don't have a link to verify that, but that's just what I've heard
