UGA vs Emory vs GaTech

Hello! Recently admitted to all 3 schools. I am hoping to get some of the traditional college experience while also getting a great education. If you could help me make the choice of where to go, I would really appreciate it!

Major: Math/Neuroscience at Tech, Math/Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Pre-Med at UGA, and Math Pre-Med at Emory

Career goals: I would like to obtain an MD or PhD (or both) and I want the time and opportunity to find out what I am passionate for while in college.

UGA
Pros:
Football
Strong Greek Life
Chance to have fun
Good labs for what I am interested in
CURO
Cons:
Least prestigious
Most expensive
More known for education maths than the heavy academic from what I understand

Georgia Tech
Pros:
Pretty cheap
Football
Decent Greek Life?
Very prestigious
Offers neuroscience
Cons:
No Pre-Med
Grade deflation
Known for engineering rather than Math

Emory
Pros:
Cheapest
Very prestigious
I believe it is well known for mathematics
Strong pre-med program
Cons:
No football afaik
Little greek life

Georgia Tech is chock full of pre-meds. Quite a few get into very prestigious med schools. Emory is obviously an amazing school, but for STEM it’s hard to beat Georgia Tech. It has football and Greek life and many other things to do but maybe it’s too intense for you in terms of the time you’re willing to commit to your studies. Grade deflation is a concern at Georgia Tech. I would discard UGA. Yes, you’d have a fun 4 years but why would you pick the least prestigious, most expensive school? Four years of a good time is not worth it. If you are still searching for your passion, and you want a broad array of fields, go with Emory. Great school but easier than Georgia Tech. No football culture but you can follow other sports.

Nothing prevents you from going to GTech games as an Emory student.

hi! i don’t have much input on where you should go (though pre med definitely makes me lean towards emory, as it’s known nationally for it, but same for tech with math) but i’m aiming for those schools as well. would you mind sharing your stats?

THWG!
