Hi everyone, I realize this is close to the May first decision deadline but I’m really at a tie for both schools. Ultimately, I would like to double major in bio and psych with pre-med intention in focusing on psychiatry. I loved both schools and like the big football and greek life. I also liked both towns but did think Athens had more to offer. Was wondering if anyone had any input on research opportunities, pre-med programs, and medical school acceptance rates or anything else that could help sway me to one side. Thanks!!
UGA is a much stronger name in the world of academia
Most rankings have them pretty close, UGa is much larger (good or bad, depends on you) and settings are different, so I’d choose based on that.
If you are serious about medical school, save your money for it. Both Clemson and UGA are excellent schools with excellent reputations. The difference is which costs more (which is not addressed in your post above). Ultimately, if you want to go to med school. you do not want to take too much undergraduate debt with you. So, if it is a “push” between the schools, strongly consider the financial situation. Remember, getting into med school is not determined so much on the name on your diploma as on your GPA and MCAT score.
