Hello! I am a senior in high school and having trouble deciding between the University of Georgia and the University of Texas at Austin. Does anyone have any thoughts or input? I’m curious what are some major differences between the two, because they are pretty similar on paper. At UT, I am in the Moody school and would have in-state tuition(2 hours away), but my family can make UGA’s tuition work. I couldn’t go to admitted student days because of COVID-19. Anything is helpful! Thank you!!
Anybody? Please help!
You don’t need help. UT is the obvious choice.
UT with in-state tuition. Both are large state schools, so it’s not like you are comparing UT with small LAC or small/med. private univ. Where I live, UT is a very popular and difficult to get into school (out of state).
UGa = $42,000 per year while Texas-Austin = $22,000 per year ?
If you plan on going to graduate school, then Texas is the wiser choice financially.
Since you didn’t go to student days(and that does make your decision more difficult), and since UT is IS, UT is the obvious choice. Could your HS counselor put you in touch from recent grads of your school who went to UT and maybe UGA, too?
Yeah I’ve texted a few people who are currently going to the schools from Texas!
Hi! I’m currently in the exact same position, deciding between ut in state and uga. I’m wondering what was your decision, and if you like where you ended up. Thank you!
