University of Georgia or TCU

Daughter was accepted yesterday with scholarship (10k) to University of Georgia for Business program. She had been deciding between U of Arizona (21k Scholarship) and TCU and with many factors was opting for TCU (22k scholarship).

Now UG is in the mix with considerable less tuition but without the TCU personalized polished feel.

Please share if you have any details for us to consider. We had researched a lot of schools but not UG too much. From NY and either are appealing for different reasons.

Thank you!

If money is no issue TCU. I think I remember that UGA has 8,000 undergrad business students. S20 didn’t apply for that reason. UGA has beautiful campus but still 90 minutes from Atlanta.

UGA’s business school is excellent. Terry has a brand new complex that’s gorgeous. The students who get involved (so many opportunities to do so) and seek out internships will do very, very well. Recruitment at Terry is excellent. The size is not a problem at all. The professors in even the larger courses are very accessible. And some Terry majors are not large at all. I would not pay more for TCU.

Rather than scholarship amount can you indicate net cost* and which ones are within budget?

  • (tuition, fees, room, board) - (grants, scholarships)= $…

Thank you for the supportive information. To respond, TCU will be about 43k and UG about 30k.

Agree with the benefit of the personalized support and smaller cohort, especially for classes. internships, and post graduate assistance.
