Ugh, kill me lol

I just filled out 81 graduation announcements to send out.... took forever and my hand is killing me lol

How many announcements did everyone send out for their HS Graduation? Get any gifts out of it?

I bought blank printable graduation cards at Staples - did a nice design (current photo of daughter in the middle surrounded by several photos of her from a baby through childhood + some text) - and printed them. No writing required. I had done the same for her brother because he had refused to get the school announcements and she liked his so refused to get them also.

Not many, if any at all. Just let my parents do it.

Im hoping to get a little bit of cash out of it.... evil, i know...

^Aren't we all? Anyone who says they aren't is a liar. :-p

I'll probably only send out a few...just to family and stuff.

What are these for?

I just sent out 13. Good enough for me...all of mine were handwritten. Yikes, I can't imagine doing 80+ And yeah, I'm hoping that I get a little money out of it also. It's a bit selfish, but come on, my family gives money to our relatives for their graduations, they should reciprocate the love upon me, poor broke me! :D

Dank08: Grad announcements= announcements/cards to family/friends inviting them to your school graduation ceremony. Often times just a courtesy, as most your family/friends cannot show up, but will often send in money as a graduation present

Good idea...

My school gets all of ours through Jostens.

I mean, we don't HAVE to, but it's easier, since they print them up really nicely and all you have to do is put them in an envelope and write the address on them.

^ Yeah we use Jostens too. I sent out around 25. It wasn't that hard since all I had to do was come up with addresses (I then printed them on the outer envelope so they would look pretty), then I put my senior picture and name card in the announcement, stuff it in the inner envelope and close that one with a diploma shape sticker, and then stuff that in the outer one. The WORST part by far was licking all of the envelopes.

So far 2 people have received their (I mailed them out Thursday) and I've got $150. It kinda sucks that I'm 18 now because a lot of my family cuts relatives off at 18 and it really doesn't help that I just had my birthday a month ago, but oh well, I really don't care about the money (I rather have them show up at my graduation, but plane tickets are too expensive for a one day trip). Getting gifts actually kinda sucks in a way because then you have to write a Thank You card (handwritten) and then once again lick tons of envelopes (maybe writing postcards would be fun because I wouldn't have to lick them?--would that be ok to do?) and mail them out. It's so hard thinking of different ways to say "thanks for the money" and make it halfway long and sincere sounding.

Why would you lick envelopes? That's ridiculous. Just use water.

^ long story short, one time I tried using water instead one time at work when I was paying company bills and I spilled the water I was using......yeah it was bad. I'll just stick to licking them because graduation announcements are too expensive to replace.

we do jostens too...I sent ....XERO...lol

Oh my school sold them through the same company doing our cap and gowns. I just had to sign them. But ouch... 81?

I think I (or my parents) just made mine in powerpoint and printed them off. Not fancy, but it gives you a good chance to make yours unique.

"^ long story short, one time I tried using water instead one time at work when I was paying company bills and I spilled the water I was using......"

No water required; a damp sponge/paper towel will do the trick.

We use Herff Jones, they mailed out our announcements for us!

We had to give them the names and addresses, but they took care of postage and everything..

I sent about 30 or 35.

lol i just told them by word of mouth. hahahaah
