ugh...when the lightbulb moment comes too late!!

have you guys ever been in a situation where you're taking a difficult math/physics test
and you're sorta on a time limit and kinda stressed out...
and then you spend too much time on this problem that you seem just so close to solving but you can't....

and THEN, not long after you turn in the test, you reminisce about/resolve those problems(which are already engraved into your memory) and you FIGURE OUT THE SOLUTION!!...ughh

i HATE it when this happens =[ especially with math/physics...which usually happens alot
makes me ashamed because I could've gotten some better grades on tests =[ life sucks. haha

how do you cope with this?? just forget about the test and move on with life?

haha usually doesn't happen often, but when it does, you just start hating yourself.

That's one of the reasons why I hate math and physics.

I'm on the same train. Death to geometry!

this especially happens to me with those dumb free response questions where they throw you curveballs=[

how do i deal with this??? ughhhhh

The entire USAMO last year.

sigh

Err, happens to me all the time, but I'm usually happy that I managed to figure the problem out! Unsolved problems are far greater a nuisance to me than incorrectly answered questions on a test.

Oh my. SAT math section. dies

Oh yes. A certain math problem on the 2007 PSAT... I remember because it was so EASY and I thought of the answer just as I handed in my test booklet. =.=

Yep. Happens to me alll the time. Usually a couple of minutes after I turn in the test.

Sometimes it's because there's a weird curveball somewhere. A lot of the times, the answer is just so obvious, I don't know HOW I overlooked it. I think I do that quite often on my SAT I math. Like I try to figure out some complicated way to do it and after 2 minutes, figure out that the answer is like right in front of my face. And that's 2 minutes wasted..

You know, I'm still waiting for that lightbulb moment to come for Calculus. Like, maybe one day I'll finally understanding everything. ....like, hopefully before the AP exam?

This happens to me after debates/discussions a lot.

This used to happen to me only in math classes. I'd forget formulas or techniques completely during the test, even though I had studied them the morning/day/week before and had a full understanding of the concept...I just couldn't remember it! If I was lucky it would come back in the last few minutes of the test, but it was often minutes after I turned it in. This was killer in my Calc class with all of the 4-question quizzes. Thank goodness I don't have any more math until college.

^Ohhh same here with debate. I always realize another good point we could've made or something right after we finish the tournament.

mine is a bit different
after finishing the test like 20 minutes earilier, I turn it in, only to realize 5 minutes later that I did something wrong T.T

Had that moment today during a test.

I had that problem on the Calc BC AP Test last year. I didn't figure out what to do for #3 FR until after I had to put my calculator away.
